NJSLA (NJ Student Learning Assessment)

NJSLA is  the brand new NJ State Standard Test.  These tests are taken on the computers/ chromebooks   My role as the school's media specialist is to help students understand how to use the NJSLA website.  This way, students will be able to take the test on the computer/ chromebook and know how to use the tools provided by the NJSLA website.

Practice tests for students in grades 5 & 6 can be located at Practice Tests.

To access the Practice Tests:

  1. Click on the ELA, Math or Science test you wish to view.

  2. Click on the grade.

  3. Click on the Computer Based Practice Test.

  4. Enter a name or nickname to access the test, or leave it as Guest.  The reason why you need to provide a name is to reassure the NJSLA website that you are an actual person and not a computer.

An excellent website to help students with NJSLA skills is Mr Nussbaum.  There are games, practice reading passages and math word problems students can work on.

STAR ASSESSMENT:

We will be using the STAR assessment as well throughout the school year.
